I hosted a costume shoot for clients of all ages, and this image is just one from that session. The mother of the two children made the costumes: Wednesday and Cousin ITT. If I had to say how the image represented me as an artist, I would say it shows the artistic training and creativity that I love to add to all of my images. This type of imagery reflects more of my fine arts training and actually makes me smile every time I look at it.
As a Queen Photographer, we all strive to express how much we care about out community, culture, and gifts as women of color. I think this particular image definitely expresses how creative and artistic we can all be if we continue to stay on the grind and not let people put out our "fire."
The Queen Photographers is a national organization and community for women of color photographers. The mission of the Queen Photographers is to equip each other in business, cultivating savvy business owners, while building a supportive sisterhood. Each local chapter of The Queen Photographers meets monthly for in-person masterminds, photowalks, workshops, and fellowship.
