ABOUT VENDOR
Meet Buffy Goodman
I'm a lifelong AuDHD weirdo who loves unboring wedding photography, grilled cheese sandwiches, excellent coffee, chocolate babka, and RuPaul’s Drag Race. Chaotic Good vibes all the way.
I used to be a professional photojournalist and was published in lots of papers and magazines, even extra fancy sounding things like Nat Geo and the Wall Street Journal.
I’ve also photographed several national and international commercial advertising campaigns, and I’ve won a bunch of cool awards for both editorial and wedding photography.
I’m wholeheartedly dedicated to fucking up the patriarchy, and making things suck less in the wedding industry.
My business supports feminist and queer causes/ non profits, I am pro-choice (I’m an abortion doula!) I love queer and trans folx, and I believe in a free Palestine.
Do you love gratuitous adjectives? Well, here’s a bunch of good ones - inclusive, intuitive, honest, spontaneous, funny, insightful, lighthearted, moment-based, feeling-centric, joyful, colourful, warm-hearted, effervescent, quirky, magical, Buff-tastic.
How does Buffy approach weddings?
I'm there to capture the ineffable - the little sparkles of magic that appear when you're with the person you love the most. I nerd out on finding cool light in weird places and taking portraits you didn't expect, and capturing both subtle as well as obvious moments. A bridesmaid once called me "the least lazy photographer I have ever seen" - it's true, I am always observing, looking for the story of your day. I believe in inclusive, gender-neutral posing, and I embrace body positivity.
What are some traits of your ideal clients?
Chilled out folks who really love their families/chosen families, aren't afraid to feel all the feels, and want a documentary style photographer.
What are some of your favorite things?
I love backcountry hiking, reading for hours in a hammock, and snuggling my two giant old man cats, Ghost and Bert. My perfect day would be hiking with friends, followed by a hot spring, a spicy margarita, and a mountain of sushi and ramen.
TESTIMONIAL
“Hiring Buffy as our wedding photographer was, without a doubt, one of the best choices we made for our entire wedding. From the very beginning, we knew she was the one. Her work was stunning, warm, vibrant, and full of life. There’s something about the way she captures emotion that sets her apart from everyone else.
We reached out and were thrilled when she said yes. We flew her all the way from Edmonton, Canada to Atlanta to photograph our wedding, and she exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment she arrived, she brought this calming, positive presence with her that made everyone feel comfortable and excited to be in front of the camera. She somehow managed to be everywhere without ever being intrusive, and she captured moments that we didn't even realize were happening at the time.
Buffy is more than just a talented photographer. She is a genuine, kind, and thoughtful human who truly cares about the people she works with. She took time to understand our personalities, our dynamic, and what mattered most to us. She was organized and communicative throughout the entire process, which made things so easy during what could have been a stressful time.
When we received our photos, we were blown away. Every image looked like a piece of art. From the big emotional moments to the tiny in-between glances and joyful chaos on the dance floor, she captured the full spirit of the day. Her turnaround was incredibly fast, and the final gallery was beautiful, cohesive, and filled with heart. We’ve had so many guests and family members comment on how amazing the photos are, and we could not agree more.
We would hire her again in a heartbeat, flights and all. If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Buffy, take it. Her work is truly one of a kind, and so is she. We are endlessly grateful to have had her capture our wedding, and we will cherish these photos for the rest of our lives.”
