Business We Believe In: Paisley & Jade

Get to know Morgan, the co-founder of Paisley & Jade!

Paisley & Jade is a boutique-style rental company and prop house located in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. Specializing in vintage and eclectic items, we maintain an inventory of gorgeous furniture and decor pieces that can be used to create one-of-a-kind visual displays. From soirées to styled shoots, our collection contains the details that assist our clients in executing their vision. We have sourced up & down the east coast, dug through barns and even pulled items from our own grandmothers’ attics to curate our extensive collection. With a selection of upholstered pieces, plus a warehouse full of furniture and smalls that would make any thrift store junkie jealous, we are truly a destination for event designers, art directors, stylists and commercial photographers.

1.  What is the mission of your company?

At our core, we exist to assist our clients in making their vision come to life. Whether that’s a romantic lounge area, a steampunk photo booth or a mid-century inspired engagement session — our collection contains the props and details to help bring ideas to reality.

2.  What is your company's origin story?

Many moons ago, we (co-owners Perkins & Morgan) were working at an off-premise catering company in the special events division. We loved conceptualizing and executing new food displays, but found that there wasn’t a resource locally to rent props and furniture to complete these looks. Necessity is the mother of invention, right? Three years later, and we’ve found that it is indeed a resource that was lacking!

4.  How are you a "wedding space disrupter”?

We’re champions of the crazy around here… warriors for the weird, lovers of creative thinkers and obsessed with anything “outside the box”! If someone says “I want to do XYZ at my wedding, but everyone’s telling me that’s not how weddings work” — that’s a client we want to work with!  While we have the utmost respect for traditions, we also have a huge love of doing what makes you happy — not doing it because that’s the way it has always been done. Sometimes the most beautiful, amazing weddings are full of unexpected things that aren’t very “wedding-y”, and we LOVE that!

5.  What three ingredients are necessary for a great day at your company?

  • Coffee…lots of coffee!
  • A great mix of tunes
  • Laughter!

6.  What kind of couple makes an ideal client for your company?

We love couples that have a clear vision for their celebration, but it also open to suggestion, creativity, and fun! This makes the process enjoyable for everyone and really opens some doors to some cool ideas.
