Lauren and Adrian met at her brother’s wedding and even walked down the aisle together as part of the bridal party! They hit it off right away in all their quirky glory. Adrian proposed in Paris on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower with a gorgeous ring he had specially-made for the Disney-loving Lauren (can you see the hidden Mickey Mouse?).
I was so excited for this engagement session, because I am usually photographing couples in the mountains or in a beautiful scenic landscape. City photography is not my specialty, but I was ready for something different, and Lauren and Adrian rocked it. We shot at the very hip new Union Station in Denver capturing a number of different scenes. We started at the “Terminal Bar” and warmed up with a couple drinks before getting some shots out in the street in front of the station. Adrian is a bundle full of energy, while Lauren is much more reserved. I so enjoyed watching these two interact and loved everything about their connection and the way their personalities meshed. Their wedding is next May in downtown Denver, and I can’t wait to see Adrian and Lauren in action again!

Meet Suzanne Jakes: Hi!!! I'm Suzanne. I'm spunky, energetic, honest, passionate, animated, full of love, and a little quirky! I have a beautiful family that steals my heart and inspires me everyday. I have lived all over the country chasing many different dreams but am so ecstatic to have found my calling as a wedding photographer in the beautiful countryside of Maryland.
I take a very photojournalistic approach to weddings and prefer to capture moments as they unfold. Of course I will help you with posing to get those epic portrait shots, but I'm more interested in the moments in between poses. I want to tell a unique story of each couple, and I strive to capture authentic, intimate, and powerful images. My mission is to make you feel beautiful and confident in front of my camera, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen. I love working with fun, quirky couples who love the outdoors and aren't afraid to be themselves.
