ABOUT VENDOR
Meet Harper Photo Co.
Based in Portland, Maine, Harper Photo Co. is a wife and wife team - Rachel and Annie - specializing in unfussy, authentic imagery to remember the real. Shooting both digital and analog photo and video, we love a good story and aren't afraid to get a little weird to tell one. We've been told we have a knack for helping awkward/camera shy/introverted folks feel at home in their skin, and think it’s the highest compliment. We’re committed to making sure that everyone in front of our cameras feels celebrated, supported, and completely comfortable.
How do Rachel & Annie approach weddings?
People first. Photos second.
What are some traits of your ideal clients?
Our ideal clients are intentional, present with each other and their people, and love photos but don't structure their celebration around them. They're kind, creative, and thoughtful and most importantly wholly themselves.
What are some of your favorite things?
We love hosting - Annie is a classically trained chef - and Rachel loves planning a good party, so we spend a lot of time at home surrounded by people we love, great food, and long evenings of games and conversation. We love experimental photography and playing in our basement darkroom, hanging with our three pets (Biggie Smalls, Ramona, and Perry), woodworking, reading, roadtrips, and taking on projects to learn new skills - right now we're building out a small cabin in the Maine woods. A perfect day involves a splash of sun, a warm body of water, and a cozy surface to sink into at the end of a day of exploring.
TESTIMONIAL
“The more time we spent with Rachel and Annie, the more we realized why we were drawn to them in the first place—they encourage their clients to be at ease and the most natural versions of themself. Looking through the photos of our engagement shoot and wedding, we see ourselves. Not posed versions, or us trying to put on a face—we see the giggles, the stolen glances, and everything in between that makes us us. The fact that they are able to do all that while still finding the perfect backdrop, a unique angle, or a pocket of gorgeous light is just an added bonus. Their work speaks for itself. We would recommend the two of them to anyone we knew in a heartbeat!”
