ABOUT VENDOR
Meet JC Lemon Photography
I'm Jon Lemon (he/him), a NYC-based wedding and elopement photographer with 15 years and 450+ weddings under my belt. I'm originally from Texas, which probably explains why I'm one of the more laid-back photographers you'll find in this city. That's not an accident — it's kind of the whole point.
I shoot everything from full weddings to two-person elopements at city hall, and I genuinely love the smaller stuff. Less noise, more realness. The photos end up better for it.
My work lives somewhere between documentary and portrait — I'm watching for the moments that actually happen, not manufacturing ones that look good on a mood board. When we do stop for portraits, it's low-key and fast. No awkward posing, no barking directions. Just you two, doing your thing.
Based in Queens, I shoot all over NYC and beyond — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hudson Valley, Long Island, and wherever else the wedding takes me.
How does Jon approach weddings?
My job is to disappear. Not literally — I'm there, camera in hand — but I'm not the kind of photographer who's constantly redirecting your day or turning every moment into a setup. I work quiet and I work fast, and most people forget I'm there pretty quickly. That's exactly what I'm going for.
The candid stuff is where I live. The look between you two when no one's watching. The laugh that nobody planned. The moment right after the ceremony when everything hits at once. Those are the photos you'll actually care about in ten years.
That said, portraits matter and I take them seriously. We'll carve out some time — usually 20 to 30 minutes — and keep it moving. I'll give you some loose direction, you'll settle in, and we'll get something real. No stiff posing, no "tilt your chin and look into the distance" nonsense.
For elopements specifically, I've been doing this long enough to know how to keep things moving without it feeling rushed. You get to be present. I handle the rest.
What are some traits of your ideal clients?
You're probably not planning a 200-person ballroom wedding. Maybe you're not planning a traditional wedding at all — maybe it's a city hall ceremony followed by great food, or a rooftop with 15 of your closest people, or just the two of you and a really good location.
You want photos that look like your relationship actually looks — honest, a little spontaneous, not over-styled. You've probably scrolled past a lot of wedding photography that felt too polished or too posed and thought, "that's not us."
You're not trying to impress anyone. You're doing this your way, and you want a photographer who gets that and stays out of the way while it happens.
Budget-wise, you're thoughtful about where your money goes. You're not cutting corners, but you're also not paying for a name or a vibe that doesn't fit you. You want someone good who you'll actually enjoy spending the day with.
If any of that sounds right, we're probably a fit. I work with all kinds of couples across NYC and the surrounding area, and I'm genuinely happiest when I'm shooting something a little outside the traditional wedding formula.
What are some of your favorite things?
Woodworking, rock climbing, and getting outdoors are my favorite indulgences. In fact, I love my woodworking so much that I now have a company for that! A perfect day for me would be waking up early enough to enjoy dawn without being rushed, maybe with a cup of coffee, and then starting a lazy day of tinkering around the workshop, maybe hopping to the park for an afternoon bike ride, and then BBQing some smoked brisket and drinking a crisp cold beer while watching the sunset. All in good company, of course!
TESTIMONIAL
“Jon was an absolute joy to work with from the first call, to the ultimate delivery of the photos. He is fun, easy going, encouraging, and unfailingly positive and able to go with the flow. His photos were beyond belief. Every important moment was captured perfectly. It was as if there were 5 of him. We have one moment captured from one angle, and then what seemed like the very next moment captured from what seems to be all the way across the room. He was completely unintrusive while somehow also nailing every single beautiful moment. I could not possibly recommend him highly enough. Thank you Jon!”
