Meet Mary Bell
A mainly documentary style photographer who blends the quirky and timeless appeal of film with the versatility of digital to fully document all folks in love. I've been photographing weddings since 2014 throughout the mid-Atlantic region. While I love a big party every once in a while, I mostly work events with a more intimate feel.
How does Mary approach weddings?
My approach is a constant balancing act of knowing when to blend into the background and when to give gentle guidance. The main goal is to always help document a wedding day as it naturally unfolds while also leaving space to create art and to document people in their best light. I focus heavily on things like the hugs, the belly laughs, the way the light dances through the trees and everything in between but I also use my fine art background to take memorable, heirloom portraits that genuinely reflects marriers and their guests. I bring a calming and confident demeanor to events that allows me to harmoniously work with marriers to create their own unique works of art.
What are some traits of your ideal clients?
My ideal clients are often fellow artists and creators. They value and appreciate nature and don't mind me pointing out a bird call. Quality over quantity is something my clients often feel strongly about. Above all, they care deeply about other people.
What are some of your favorite things?
I can often be found in my free time traveling to locations that offer great food and hiking, reading fiction novels, playing on my switch, and fighting with my espresso machine.
