Sarah Katherine Davis (she/they) is an award-winning, inclusive wedding and elopement photographer based in Louisville, Kentucky. Specializing in authentic and candid photography, Sarah creates intimate, joyous, and genuine imagery through a timeless blend of documentary and fine art approaches. How does Sarah approach weddings?
I take a documentary approach for the majority of the day, focusing on highlighting your unique personalities and celebrating your relationship with each other—as well as with your friends and family. I love capturing how the day naturally unfolds and the feeling of all the little moments throughout it.
Additionally, I want my couples and their guests to feel valued and celebrated for exactly who they are. I take immense joy in collaborating with other LGBTQIA+ couples and folks from all backgrounds. I wholeheartedly embrace diversity and do not discriminate based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or ability. Additionally, I prioritize body positivity and am mindful of maintaining accurate skin tones in my editing process.
What are some traits of your ideal clients?
I love working with a wide range of couples: introverts, extroverts, nature lovers, art enthusiasts, book nerds, movie buffs, globetrotters, and homebodies. But the common thread among all my favorite couples is that they are even more excited about *being married* than the wedding day— they can't wait to spend their lives together.
What are some of your favorite things?
Outside of photographing weddings, you can find me:
-fussing over my 200+ houseplants
-putting the b & q in LGBTQ+, loving on my wife Joyce, & using she/they pronouns
-exploring new hobbies such as pottery & natural dyes
-revisiting old hobbies like crocheting & baking sourdough bread
-gardening, foraging wild plants, and cooking for friends
-quickly devouring sci-fi and fantasy novels, while slowly savoring non-fiction reads
-staying civically engaged & promoting inclusivity in the wedding industry
