Celestial Wedding Party Inspiration in Portland, Oregon
“My inspiration for this wedding party styled shoot come from the night skies in Oregon. When you get away from the city, the stars truly are nature showing off. I wanted to bring the stars to the city.”
Las Vegas Desert Elopement Styled Shoot: Jordan + Ashley
We arrived at the Dry Lake Beds just before 9 a.m. to bright sun and high winds. Jordan and Ashley were full of bubbly laughter and gave us the best genuine, affectionate cuddles to photograph — as well as some high-energy windy runs across the lake bed!
Pagan Elopement Inspiration in the Woods in Chimacum, WA: Jennifer + Loren
The grove of trees that we chose was utterly perfect. The trees were in a small circle and the brides had an intimate space to celebrate and renew their vows. We then decorated the ring of trees to feel like an actual little room in the woods.
Minimal Boho Elopement Inspiration at Engine Company 12 in Washington, D.C.
We really wanted to hit home the idea of a minimalistic approach. Sometimes weddings can become all about the bells and whistles. We wanted the simplistic decor to shine while also showcasing the amazing talent of each vendor.
A Styled Mountaintop Elopement in Asheville, North Carolina: Cydney + Lauren
As we were hiking up we started to see the horizon line glowing pink. We made it to the top just in time for the beautiful alpenglow on the mountains. Lauren and Cydney got ready together, and re-read their vows from their original wedding day. We sat around with warm drinks, chatting and enjoying the view, and then hiked back down the mountain together.
Quirky Yet Glam Wedding Inspiration at The Hotel at Lafayette in Buffalo, NY: Grace + TJ
When it came to choosing models, we really wanted to focus on joy. Wedding days are full of joy, so we wanted to make sure marriers could see themselves in that. Grace and TJ perfectly fit that bill, you can practically hear Grace’s laughter by just looking at her.
Jewel Tone-Inspired Wedding Inspiration at The Winslow in Baltimore, Maryland
It was really important to me to bring on a real LGBTQ+ couple, and not just two models. I also loved being able to represent plus size women and work with Love and Lace Bridal to find something they would look amazing in. The more I work with publications and the wedding world in general, these are two areas in which I see a lack of content.
A Vibrant Multi-Couple LGBTQ+ Styled Shoot in Austin, TX: Radical Wed Retreat
Radical Wed Retreat is an annual retreat and workshop for inclusive wedding vendors hosted by wedding coordinator and stylist Justine Broughal of Together Events and photographer Jamie Carle. In addition to talks and workshops around intersectional topics, the retreat included a styled shoot for a colorful double ceremony for two LGBTQ+ couples.
20 Masculine Engagement Rings from Ethical Artisan Jewelers
Women and femmes are not the only ones that love jewelry, and that’s why we love that all of the jewelers in our vendor directory offer a variety of masculine engagement rings for all the men, masc, and non-binary folks looking to get engaged this year.
Hidden Courtyard Elopement Inspiration at Quirk Hotel in Richmond
Three years ago the Catalyst team was orchestrating the third {un}convention conference and was lucky to be host to this amazing styled shoot at The Quirk Hotel. Erik & James are a real-life couple and they agreed to be the models for the shoot. It was such a fun day, both while celebrating in the hidden courtyard and while looking out over the Richmond skyline from the rooftop.
Celestial Inspired Wedding Editorial in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Inspired by celestial elements, geodes, and gemstones, we set out to create a wedding inspiration photoshoot that captured these trends in a new and unique light.

A Funky Elopement Inspiration Shoot in Milwaukee
“I’m a huge fan of packing as much color and texture as possible into my work. Between the multicolored sequined gown and velvet suit, the otherworldly florals, and all of the funkiest art Milwaukee has to offer, I was in heaven. Nothing is quite as heavenly and sweet as Kitty and Liam, though.”
Modern Meets Vintage Summertime Elopement Inspiration in the Catskills
Because the Catskills and Scribner’s Lodge are both already so stunning, I wanted our design to complement the natural surroundings rather than attempt to upstage it. Scribner’s in-house florist, Andrew, put together a gorgeous spread of florals grown from right on the property’s farm!
Lakeside Elopement Inspiration at Lake Jocassee, South Carolina
My models for this shoot are a lesbian couple who are amazing people, very much in love. Neither fit the typical bridal standard, and I think it's so important to highlight all love.

Lush Velvet Wedding Inspiration at Seven Springs VA
She installed a floral chandelier in the Seven Springs pavilion that can serve as a ceremony statement piece and a frame for the sweetheart table. We strive to spend our clients money wisely by encouraging them to invest in creative pieces but we find ways to repurpose things throughout the event.
Rainbow Themed Queer Intimate Wedding Inspiration in Boston
This shoot was created entirely by queer vendors (with one exception being the venue, which is a local brewery with a clear commitment to hiring queer folks in both of their locations), inclusive of PoC folks, and featuring a real-life queer couple. The entire operation, put together and photographed during Pride Month in June, was focused on lifting up and working together with LGBTQ+ community.
Bright Neon Wedding Inspiration at Hotel 50 Bowery in NYC
This shoot was a true collaboration to create a luxury wedding scene for a sophisticated and fun queer couple living in NYC to celebrate their love, including their real life pet, Scout. We had so much fun dreaming up ways to highlight the stunning views that 50 Bowery Hotel displays while also celebrating its downtown vibe and unique artwork.
Natural Yet Colorful Wedding Inspiration at Seven Springs in Virginia
We strive to spend our clients’ money wisely by encouraging them to invest in creative pieces, and we find ways to repurpose things throughout the event. We loved how the freestanding floral ceremony pieces framed the couple without being the typical wooden arbor or truss, and they can be moved and repurposed at the reception.
