People love this stuff! And there is no shortage of vendors and ways that you can incorporate cannabis into your wedding. That said, being at an event about enjoying cannabis filled with mainly white faces in stark juxtaposition to the black and brown ones filling prisons for doing the same thing left me feeling a way.

It’s that time of the year! Here are our favorite real wedding moments from 2018!

Candice and Kaitlyn are a real couple who are engaged and preparing to walk down the aisle. They dub themselves "Muscles and Mouse," and as you can see, live up to the playful, loving couple that the nicknames imply. Inspired by the historic school house, we went with an art inspired theme. The shoot is colorful, bright, and abstract to show that you can be bold in expressing yourself while celebrating life and love.

For the ceremony, I wore all traditional jewelry, except for the finger rings and the nose ring because it was too much jewelry for me. I don't normally wear jewelry and they were a bit uncomfortable. I wore a maang tikka on my forehead, which I loved, a few heavy diamond necklaces and earrings, ankle bracelets, and red and white bangles, which are the traditional wedding colors. We exchanged not only rings but also Mangal Sutras (diamond and black onyx necklaces bought in India) during the ceremony. We also got wedding Henna or Mehndi done before leaving LA on our hands and feet. It took hours to be applied and we had to sit still and sleep without rubbing it off so it would stain as dark as possible, which was so hard! As is the tradition we got each other's first name initial hidden in our Henna and during the first look we had to find it on each other.

I (Jonathon) am an amalgam of right and left brain—I'm in internal medicine and geriatrics, and I am an actor. I am a Colorado Native. Paul is a cerebral kind of guy with a background in forensic psychology who specialized in army intelligence. He too loves the outdoors and enjoying great times with friends. Between my love of the outdoors and his love of the historical elements of society, the castle was a great backdrop for our wedding.

About three years later, still not married and a two-year-old son later, I decided it was about time we finally did it. Laying in bed one night I told her "We're getting married this year in Colorado."

For Woke Wednesday, we spoke with Cassie Rosch, a destination photographer based in Colorado, about her journey from small town USA to coming out as queer and traveling the world to photograph love.

This styled shoot was a sophisticated rendition of the 80s. We wanted to balance the lightheartedness of love with the moody space of the venue to create an intriguing connection between everything. Our goal was to extract bigger elements of the decade and integrate that with architectural hard lines and edges. Everyone who worked on the shoot was a local Colorado business, and we were so proud to shine light on the diverse talent present in the Denver area.

Lauren and Adrian met at her brother’s wedding and even walked down the aisle together as part of the bridal party!  They hit it off right away in all their quirky glory.  Adrian proposed in Paris on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower with a gorgeous ring he had specially-made for the Disney-loving Lauren (can you see the hidden Mickey Mouse?).
