Over the course of three days, Marni Wishart Photographer and a team of dozens of Houston contributing vendors came together to create a series of themed pop-up weddings in a Texas Hill Country glamping venue. Despite rain, cold, and heavy fog, this team of creatives and a group of diverse models and real couples created some really stunning inspiration.

We wanted to showcase some fantastic attire for these two handsome men - and we wanted to be sure that they coordinated without matching.  By mixing the burgundy tux with a classic black, they each got to showcase their personalities in a way that would feel suitable for them.  

Leah is a theater director in New York City. Rachel is a history teacher. What better place to get engaged than the set of Hamilton with the assistance of Lin-Manuel Miranda?! Yes, that actually happened. These two are the quintessential New York City couple. For our engagement session, we started at their place in Bedford-Stuyvesant and then headed out to the New York Transit Museum (which is my favorite place in NYC), ending in their old neighborhood of Prospect Heights, where they lived together for years.

We met in person for drinks and were unanimously feeling we had picked the perfect couple. Our first evening together was spent listening to stories of their meeting: an almost-missed connection, driving hours to meet halfway for a first date, facing a fear of heights, falling in love, moving to the same city, revisiting the first date and Carolina’s fear of heights during the proposal (“I still don’t know what the view looks like.”). We felt that Sarah's entire body seemed to smile while talking about Carolina, and Carolina's deep, soulful smile and tenderness toward her future bride were qualities we couldn't wait to convey.

Adam Barehl and I decided that we’ll ask a different photographer to document our lives around our anniversary every year. So that over time, we can look back at our real life and see the mundane through someone else’s eyes…see all of the subtle changes over the years, like what the kitchen looks like or the growing number of gray hairs on our head. Russell and Dave describe themselves as opposites who bonded over their shared love of music. Russell is outgoing and free-spirited and Dave is the more reserved and introspective. They met early in 2015 and were engaged by the end of the year. Russell proposed to Dave during a visit to NYC in late December. They are enjoying a long engagement as Dave finishes his doctorate in clinical psychology. Russell works in the pharmacy at a children's hospital. These two share everything together and have established a tiny family with their dog baby Suzie Q. 

We spent a beautiful Friday evening at Hollywood Beach in Chicago, exploring the area with this amazing duo and their adorable pup Floyd. Paul and Keith are so perfect together, and after meeting through mutual friends, these two have been inseparable ever since. Their wedding next year at Promontory Point is undoubtedly going to be one epic celebration!
