It’s summer trends, but giving people a little cold shoulder action at your wedding is definitely a "Hell Yes," if you ask me. I have seen so many off-the-shoulder gowns lately and loved all of them. Everything from a fitted dress to a more beachy vibe, loose fitting off-the-shoulder is extremely beautiful and effortlessly sexy to me. Not to mention, Rihanna just released a new body glow product for Fenty Beauty, Body Lava, so just imagine having that glowing neckline exposed, yes girl!

Real Couples // A Mod Minimalist Wedding in LA: Lucy + David

I fell in love with David during a 600-mile road trip when he started singing "It's Just My Imagination,” complete with trademarked dance moves. David says he fell in love with me during a 2-hour lost-wallet-scavenger-hunt in which I demonstrated a keen sense of direction, wit, and adventure all at once. I’m not so sure about all that, but we did find his wallet. And four years later, we decided to get married in LA.

Neither of us grew up in LA, but it’s a place where my family has roots and we both have loved ones. That’s what we wanted most for our wedding: to be with as many loved ones as we could possibly manage. We wanted a ceremony that felt authentically us, recognized the many unknowns of the enormous leap we were about to take, and celebrated the love, commitment, and vulnerability that had gotten us this far. We were lucky enough to get all those things on our wedding day, but nothing could have prepared us for the feeling — the sheer and overwhelming joy — of being surrounded by so much love. It was so much more than I know how to put into words.

Color was obviously our biggest theme with every piece of decor in a different shade of a primary color. Dots and circles also became a big theme, serving as a repeating pattern on the party favors, cake, and of course the macaroon desserts. Plus we used honeycombs and balloons to decorate the tablescapes and food tables. One of my favorite decor details of the party were the black and white oversized photo booth props in shapes like ice cream cones, pretzels, and donuts. Everyone had a great time posing with them in front of the colorful heart backdrop.

I also can't talk about this shower without mentioning the entertainment! We wanted to do something as colorful and unique as the decor for Gina, so we hired the amazing drag queen Lauren Ordair to perform baby-themed songs for the party. It was so much more fun than playing another silly baby game. And it was so awesome to see Gina's surprise when she came in singing in that fantastic pink dress!
